Although the weekend isn’t completely over yet, it has still been a rather pleasant one!
Anya, a dear friend of mine, came and visited on Friday & Saturday. On Friday, we walked around campus and took a break on Landis Green with drinks we ordered from The Sweet Shop. We caught up on all sorts of things, such as her antics in England and my most recent vacation out west, as well as reminiscing on memories from high school. Later that night, we went and took a yoga class at my aunt’s place, Journeys in Yoga, and had so much fun! I’ve never took a formal yoga class before, but it went well because my aunt was teaching the class and I had one of my best friends sitting right next to me. Sadly, her stay wasn’t as long as we both wished it was and she had to get home Saturday morning.
My mom decided to pop by for a visit this weekend as well! We woke up (reasonably) early on Saturday, got our Starbucks coffee, and drove out to Leon Sinks Geological Area for a nice walk. We weren’t aware that a prescribed burn took place on Thursday and was still somewhat active while we were there, though! There were a few fallen-down tree trunks that were smoldering from the inside, which was pretty neat to see up close. It was still a pleasant walk, but we couldn’t get to many of the actual sinkholes because there were too many mosquitos swarming me (as usual).
Today was my mom’s last day visiting my sister and I, so we decided to visit the Flea Market to see if they had any cool vintage/antique items that were reasonably priced. There weren’t many vendors out since it was a bit chilly, but I was able to find a Beatles album that I’ve been needing for my collection (it’s taken me a very long time to find a cheap one that’s in decent shape), as well as a few military patches, which is another thing that I’ve started to collect.
So, as I sit here with my new record playing, I can’t help but to feel so happy about this weekend and how wonderful it feels to see someone you haven’t seen for quite awhile. Thank you mom and Anya for a great weekend! Y’all are very special to me.
Until next time,
